Energy Bars

Ingredients

Half cup raisins
Half cup coarsely chopped cashew nuts
Two (2) cups multi grain cereal
Half cup unsalted sunflower seeds
Quarter (1/4) cup wheatgerm
Half cup wholewheat flour
Half cup cocoa powder
One teaspoon cinnamon

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 Celsius
  2. Lightly coat a baking pan with grease.
  3. Combine raisins, cashew nuts, cereal, sunflower seeds, cocoa, flour, cinnamon, wheat germ, salt and baking soda in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.
  4. In a separate mixing bowl, combine and blend vegetable oil, brown sugar and egg until fluffy.
  5. Add in the applesauce and vanilla. Next, pour the dry ingredients from the first mixing bowl and stir until well mixed.
  6. Pour butter in baking pan and bake until golden brown, around 30-45 minutes.
  7. Cut into desired size while still warm.
